So I am pretty excited that the Blazers picked Greg Oden as their #1 pick. It was a hard choice between him and Durant but I think they made the right choice. Hopefully Oden will bring life back into the Portland fans. It seems as if the Blazers are re-vamping the team to give it a new image, instead of the "jail blazers" which I feel is important to gain the fans back.
The best part of Oden's arrival to Portland was not that Paul Allen was "generous" enough to fly Oden in on his private jet to Portland, where a stretch limo then escorted him away from the airport. Which to me is funny the newscaster made a segment on the news about Oden arriving on Paul Allen's jet because honestly who cares? He had to get here some how to make it right away for the rally in Pioneer Square today so why not take Paul Allen's jet. What impressed me was that when Oden arrived to Pioneer Square today he did not show up in the jet or the stretch limo but rather on the MAX. It is very good of him to make the effort to be a Portlander and show his excitement to be here. It gained even more points for him from me that he did that.
My family got season tickets this year for the Blazers so you can bet I will be there in my Oden jersey cheering him on welcoming him to Portland.

Katie,
Did not know that Oden took the Max to town, but that's awesome. I love that the Jailblazers have been turned back to the Trailblazers in such a short period of time.
Yeah, I thought it was great to see Oden take the MAX to the rally as well. This kid is truly a genuine person and will fit well on our community as well as the team. I found it funny to see him dancing on the stage in front of thousands, while fans continued to chant his name over and over again. I am finally seeing the Blazers bring the pride of basketball back to Portland. I too am proud to say that I am now a season ticket holder!

Wow, it's nice to see such a super star on the MAX. He must have been particularly noticeable because he is very tall.
I want to go to see Greg Oden with wearing "Trailblazers."

When I saw Oden on Tv meeting fans in Pioneer Place I thought his answers sounded intelligent. He elaborated, enunciated and came off sounding a lot better then most of the current team members do during interviews, I loved that he introduced his family to the crowd, and said how important they all are to him. It seems like Oden is the person who can change the impression people have of the Blazers, and what they are all about. This could be a real turning point for the team, and for Portland. Oden seems like the best draft choice they could have made. Also, I love that he took MAX downtown.
Amazing.. Kind of makes me think it is too good to be true. I really hope all goes well once it comes to the actual game. At first I was sold on this guy, but now I'm starting to think...a guy with his height, with a knee injury already...we can only hope it heals fully and doesn't get damaged again.
