First to 10,000

Another milestone in baseball? The Phillies lost their 10,000th game this sunday with a score of 10-2. The team that once won the 1980 World Series is now basking in the glory of holding a new record. Some of you may think that a 10,000 loss record is not all that appealing, but they were able to hold a 46-45 record this year making their overall record 8,810 -10,000.

As stated by Aaron Rowand, ""The guys in here weren't responsible for 10,000 losses, so what does it really matter to us?" One thing the team tries to remember is that the team has been around since 1883 so their loss record should be just as high as their win record. Whats important is that they should be remember for their individual contributions and not what the team is looked at as.

As touching as Aaron Rowand's side is, I still think that the Phillies have lost their touch since the 1980s. They have been a mediocre team and will continue to be so if the players continue to have that mindset. Whether they are responsible for all 10,000 loses or just 1, their season has been bad and they can blame themselves for that.
